ALBION WIN LEAGUE
Stanningley Albion FC finished their first season in ‘open-age’ football by winning the Bradford Sunday Alliance Division 4 title with an unbeaten record of 22 wins and 2 draws. The Club is a development from the team which competed as Stanningley Albion Juniors from Under 8s to last season’s Under 17s. It was a big step-up for all the youngsters who made up the squad and they dealt admirably with every challenge which came their way (literally!). Scoring 112 goals and conceding only 13 to win an open-age league at any level is a tremendous achievement and one which the ex-juniors can look back on with pride. Stanningley also reached the final of the league Cup where they narrowly lost 2-1 to Bradford & District Cup winners Mailcoach FC.
OLD PHONES & KITS
Chairperson Michelle Bell has asked that if anyone has any old unwanted mobile phones, can they pass them onto her so she can claim money for Stanningley Albion JFC via the PHONEAID scheme.
Sue McMurrough has asked that if anyone has any old unwanted football kits, can they pass them onto her so she can send them to a school in South Africa for kids in need.
These items can be handed in to your manager or committee member to be brought to the next committee meeting.
DO YOU NEED A REFEREE ?
If any Under 11 to Under 14s teams require a referee they should contact Michelle on 07831 302712. She has the details of a young referee who needs experience to complete his qualification.
