NEW WEB SITE for 2010/11
STANNINGLEY ALBION JFC & OPEN-AGE HAVE A NEW WEB SITE !!!!!
Stanningley Albion FC completed their second season in open-age football by winning the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Divison 3b title and the Amateur Cup.
The league was won with five games to spare and an unbeaten record of 23 wins and one draw. Albion reached the Amateur Cup final by scoring 23 goals and conceding just one in the four preceding rounds. The final was a closer affair with Andy Kenyon and Jordan Smith scoring the goals in a 2-1 victory over New Inn Celtic at Manningham Mills.
Under 14's win the Supplementary Cup
Albion's under 14's won the cup with a hard fought nail biting final against Prospect at Silsden AFC.
Well done to all players for a brilliant display. Lets hope we can soon celebrate the double.
Under 11's are the Champions!
CHAMPIONS!!!!
Well done to the lads for securing the title with a flourish. Stanningley finished the season with a 7-0 win over Otley Town to finish the season top of the Garforth league Division III.
The red and blacks have certainly made a step up from last season and should be proud of their achievements this season, the football has been of a high quality and the attitude of the players has been spot on.
We are all looking forward to next season in Division II - the hard work starts now. Well done boys.
U16s IN PENALTY-SHOOT-OUT MARATHON
Stanningley Albion Under 16s lost their second Cup final in 6 days when they were beaten 12-11 on penalties after drawing 1-1 with Leeds City Juniors in the Minor Cup Final at Elland Road. Karl Morris gave Albion a 2nd half lead but Leeds City equalised to force what became one of the longest penalty shoot-outs anyone in the big crowd could remember.
The defeat followed the 3-2 loss to Harrogate Railway in the WRCFA Junior Cup Final on Friday (23rd April). Despite finishing runners-up in both Cups it was a magnificent achievement in reaching the final of two such prestigous tournaments in the same season. The U16s have also finished runners-up in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe league division 1.
The U16s (U17s next season) are on the lookout for experienced players to improve their ambitious squad for the forthcoming season. If you would like to play for a progressive club and think you might be up for the challenge, please ring or text Mick on 07725442466.
