Club History

1992
The Oddy's
Stanningley Albion JFC formed at the Oddfellows, Stanningley with the formation of an under 11s team.
Chairman Steve Talbot is joined by Andrea Thompson as secretary.
1992 - 1997 The team progresses through to open-age soccer, having competed well in the Garforth and Leeds & District leagues. Survival as a Junior Club is dependant on new teams.
1998
Sansiros
Re-birth of the club. Two new teams are established at Under 8 (Sansiros) and Under 11 age groups by Mick Sanderson and Ray Miller.
1999 New Parent committee elected and a temporary base established at Littlemoor Club, Pudsey.
Dave Etheridge remains chairman with Julie Williams becoming secretary


New Under 8's Team formed for 1999/2000 season by Andy Kitson.
2000
Festival of Football 2000
The first Stanningley Albion Summer Tournament.


Paul Carpenter takes over as secretary and introduces the Stanningley Albion Website as the number of teams increase to six.
Julie Driscoll becomes treasurer.


Level 2 F.A. coaches
Three Club coaches gain their F.A. Coaching certificates (level 2).



Mark Hughes forms U7s (Hawks). For some early video footage click here
2001 Under 9's win the May day weekend Skegness Festival.


The club grows with 8 teams starting the new season.


The Parkfield
New home established at Pudsey Sports and Social Club....now known as 'The Parkfield Suite'


Stanningley Albion become the first club in Leeds to gain the F.A. Charter Standard Award.
2002 All coaches have F.A. Junior Team Managers qualification.


Three Parents qualify as Referees.


Under 11s (Sansiros) win the Garforth League Supplementary Cup.
2003 Andy Proctor's Under 14s team win the League Division 3 title.


Under 12's (Sansiros) Joint winners of Garforth League Division 1.


Tournament Coordinator Michelle Bell takes over as Secretary.
Campbell Brown creates a new web site (still running today).
2004 Under 13's (Sansiros) win Supplementary Cup for the second time.
2005 Campbell Brown elected as new Chaiman as Dave Etheridge retires.


U14's (Sansiros) win GJFL Challenge Cup, (to see winning goal) click here, Skegness 'Leicester City' Cup and reach the WRCFA Junior Trophy semi-final.


Derek Harrison Memorial Trophy
All Coaches are qualified to F.A. Level 1 Standard.


Under 11's (tornados) the first team to be awarded the Derek Harrison Memorial Trophy as team of the year.
2006 U15s (Sansiros) and U15 REDS join the U17's in the Craven, Aire and Wharfe Junior League. Both finished season runners-up in their respective divisions.


U15s win the Cup.


Under 13's disband.


The club now has ten teams involving 145 children in total.
2007
Under 16's Cup winners
U16s (Sansiros) win the 'double'of Leeds FA Cup at Elland Rd and the C.A.W League as well as reaching the WRCFA Junior Cup final.

U13s (Tornadoes) reach GJFL Supplementary Cup final.


U9B (Kestrels) and U10 (Eagles) finish runners up in their respective leagues.

Michelle Bell becomes Chairperson. Mick Sanderson stands in as Club secretary for one year.Julie Driscoll remains as treasurer.


2008
U11s win Cup

Under 11s (Eagles) beat Wortley to win the Garforth Junior Challenge Cup at Ossett Town.

Under 15s (Tornadoes) win Craven league division 3 title with a 100% win record

Under 17s (Sansiros) win Craven league division 1 title, are 4-0 up in Valley Parade Final when match is abandoned and lose on penalties after drawing 2-2 with Wortley U18s in Leeds Junior Cup final.

Following an idea from Dave Noonan, a new club logo is designed & implemented with the motto 'Together We Achieve'.


Mick Appleby takes over as secretary for 2008/09 with Julie Hilliard assisting.

U17s/Sansiros move up to form a new open-age team Stanningley Albion FC & join Bradford Sunday Alliance league for season 2008/09.

2009 Steve Hallas takes on role of chairperson as Michelle Bell retires.
U11s (kestrels) win GJFL division 4 title.
U13s (tykes) are runners-up in division 2.
New Open-age side win division 4 of BSAL.
