Stanningley Albion FC completed their second season in open-age football by winning the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Divison 3b title and the Amateur Cup.
The league was won with five games to spare and a record of 23 wins and one draw.
Albion reached the Amateur Cup final by scoring 23 goals and conceding just one in the four preceding rounds. The final was a closer affair with Andy Kenyon and Jordan Smith scoring the goals in a 2-1 victory over New Inn Celtic at Manningham Mills.
The club is a development of the team that present coach Mick Sanderson started in 1998. They began life as Stanningley Albion Juniors from under-8s to under-17s, then joined the Bradford league and won the division 4 title.
The team has now gone 63 games unbeaten in the league, a run that stretches back over 3 years.
As juniors they won titles and cups in both the Garforth and Craven Junior leagues, were runners-up in the County Junior Cup and won the Leeds FA Minor Cup at Elland Road.
The club is based at the Parkfield (formerly Pudsey Sports & Social Club), off Richardshaw Lane, Stanningley and play their home games at Woodhall Park.
This is manager Barry Watson’s first season in the role and as well as winning the ‘double’, the team also reached the semi-final of the County Trophy, losing on penalties to Bradford Phoenix.
