U16s IN PENALTY SHOOT-OUT THRILLER

Stanningley Albion Under 16s lost their second Cup final in 6 days when they were beaten 12-11 on penalties after drawing 1-1 with Leeds City Juniors in the Minor Cup Final at Elland Road. Karl Morris gave Albion a 2nd half lead but Leeds City equalised to force what became one of the longest penalty shoot-outs anyone in the big crowd could remember.

The defeat followed the 3-2 loss to Harrogate Railway in the WRCFA Junior Cup Final on Friday (23rd April). Despite finishing runners-up in both Cups it was a magnificent achievement in reaching the final of two such prestigous tournaments in the same season.
The U16s have also finished runners-up in the Craven, Aire & Wharfe league division 1.
